Prologue: The Supernatural Triplex Police Academy or TSTPA for short

“Where magically beings learn how the badge truly hold honor and hope for the future.”

The Supernatural Triplex Police Academy is legendary for everyone on our planet. It is a right of passage for those gifted. By gifted I mean the one’s with sight, magic, strong, smart, and good souls.

Everyone from goblins, elves, humans, un-dying humans, shapeshifters are all welcome to apply and see if they can get in. There are tests. Physical and mental challenges.

I passed them easily. I was a dragon legend titled all because my father Detective Green went through the academy and left a golden mark. The title Dragon Legend has weight behind it. It means you get the best of everything, but it does come with a price. You are expected to be the best at everything your pre-legend was and more.

Which is extremely exhausting!

My father met his partner at this academy. Right now, we will call him Detective Dr. Blue. Most people in our society so by a code name so their real identity is not found out. All because of spells and magical artifacts. Cause those can be used against you in every way possible.

Lying.

Stealing.

Hunting others.

Heisting.

Killing.

The list just goes on and on. It is uniquely complex, yet beautiful is some ways. Just like the mortal world, our world has bad men and women. Some are magical though. So, tracking them can be more difficult. That is why there is a supernatural police force and training for it.

Supernatural’s who went to TSTPA all not always the good guys. Criminals did graduate from there, but they did not always start out that way. Which is apart of the current case my father was working on which now I am secretly working on.

Chapter One: The Unknown Case

The case that caused my father to vanish is paper thin well the official case anyway. He was working on this one off the books which is more dangerous for many reasons.

  1. Hidden evidence
  2. Secret meetings
    1. No back up
  3. Lying to boss, Chief of police, and others
  4. Acting suspicious
  5. Trusting no one

Those are the top five rules when working off book. It can create leads in a case because certain people do not trust the police or like them. It keeps evidence and information known to a few so it cannot be leaked. It can be dangerous because the detective almost goes undercover by that point. The news people can get information and leak it or other police can tell others just by talking. Which then word of mouth just travels and travels.

Three blocks away from the police station my father has a hidden apartment. Well, it is hidden for everyone excluding three people. One being my father. The other myself and the last his partner.

As I am walking down the cold sidewalk I see his hidden apartment in an old tan worn down building. Most of the windows are covered or nailed shut. No one is really out at this time of night because it is a bad neighborhood. I could not wait any longer to get these files.

His partner said that he had no idea what my father was into, but that is hard to believe. They knew everything what each other was doing.

There are no secrets between them or so I thought.

Maybe I was wrong about all of it. Maybe I did not know anything at all. I am not sure what is real or what is not at this point because no one seems considered that my father has not checked in yet.

I walk up to the glass double pull doors on the ground level to the building. The glass is all frosted over because it is five degree’s outside. The tile of the flooring inside is yellow from years of not polishing it. The walls are just plain white and the front desk is empty as an abandoned building.

I head towards the stairs. I do not trust the old elevator to get me safely to the fifth floor of these building.

As I exit the stairs and walk through the heavy old door I can see my fathers apartment. The hallway floor is an old green color and the walls are a tan color with chips all through it from people running into it with themselves and items.

As I approach his apartment, I notice his door ajar. It has been broken into. The doorknob is broken. I lightly push open the door. I begin to reach into my crossbody bag for my personal weapon. As I do so, I am shoved down to the ground.

A figure rans past me and down the hall to the staircase. The mystery figure was dressed in all black. Gloves, hoodie, pants, shoes. All of it. All of that is hide who they truly are or who they are working for.

I do not give chase because I am alone and need to figure out what happened here before I ran after a stranger.

I get to my feet. As I hit the light switch on the other side of the doorframe.

I am shocked. I stand there wide mouth and bug eyed.

His apartment was trashed. Everything cut and ripped apart.

The mystery man was not holding anything. So, I am guessing I interrupted them or they could not find what they are looking for.

I walk to the bedroom and see that the twin bed is untouched and so is the wall.

That means his hidden secret spot was untouched and is still safe. I now can start my work to finding my father and the criminals that are keeping us apart.
