Detective Green

Synopsis to Fantasy Story

This story is a fantasy story about supernatural detectives that solve odd cases, help all normal and unnormal creatures, and drink coffee. These detectives can travel through universes because there are multiple and all creatures need help at some point rather it is from themselves, others, or travelers.

This story is about me, Aster Green. My father is Detective Green. As you can see from his business card above. This story is about what led up to his disappearance and the case that caused it.

I will include case files, photos, drawings, case notes, and my thoughts. Just in case something happens to me. You know where to look and get started with the work I left behind.

Green is a code name used to help hide my family’s true identity because right now no one is safe and I have no idea who is the good or bad guys anymore.

Help me solve the cases. Follow long. See if you can put the clues together faster than me. Help me understand why my father is gone. I need answers and I am the only one that can give them for myself and everyone else in the triplex universe.

Prologue: The Supernatural Triplex Police Academy or TSTPA for short

“Where magically beings learn how the badge truly hold honor and hope for the future.”

The Supernatural Triplex Police Academy is legendary for everyone on our planet. It is a right of passage for those gifted. By gifted I mean the one’s with sight, magic, strong, smart, and good souls.

Everyone from goblins, elves, humans, un-dying humans, shapeshifters are all welcome to apply and see if they can get in. There are tests. Physical and mental challenges.

I passed them easily. I was a dragon legend titled all because my father Detective Green went through the academy and left a golden mark. The title Dragon Legend has weight behind it. It means you get the best of everything, but it does come with a price. You are expected to be the best at everything your pre-legend was and more.

Which is extremely exhausting!

My father met his partner at this academy. Right now, we will call him Detective Dr. Blue. Most people in our society so by a code name so their real identity is not found out. All because of spells and magical artifacts. Cause those can be used against you in every way possible.

Lying.

Stealing.

Hunting others.

Heisting.

Killing.

The list just goes on and on. It is uniquely complex, yet beautiful is some ways. Just like the mortal world, our world has bad men and women. Some are magical though. So, tracking them can be more difficult. That is why there is a supernatural police force and training for it.

Supernatural’s who went to TSTPA all not always the good guys. Criminals did graduate from there, but they did not always start out that way. Which is apart of the current case my father was working on which now I am secretly working on.

Chapter One: The Unknown Case

The case that caused my father to vanish is paper thin, well the official case anyway. He was working on this one of the books which is more dangerous for many reasons.

  1. Hidden evidence
  2. Secret meetings
    1. No back up
  3. Lying to boss, Chief of police, and others
  4. Acting suspicious
  5. Trusting no one

Those are the top five rules when working off book. It can create leads in a case because certain people do not trust the police or like them. It keeps evidence and information known to a few so it cannot be leaked. It can be dangerous because the detective almost goes undercover by that point. The news people can get information and leak it or other police can tell others just by talking. Which then word of mouth just travels and travels.

Three blocks away from the police station my father has a hidden apartment. Well, it is hidden for everyone excluding three people. One being my father. The other myself and the last his partner.

As I am walking down the cold sidewalk I see his hidden apartment in an old tan worn down building. Most of the windows are covered or nailed shut. No one is really out at this time of night because it is a bad neighborhood. I could not wait any longer to get these files.

His partner said that he had no idea what my father was into, but that is hard to believe. They knew everything that each other was doing.

There are no secrets between them or so I thought.

Maybe I was wrong about all of it. Maybe I did not know anything at all. I am not sure what is real or what is not at this point because no one seems to have considered that my father has not checked in yet.

I walk up to the glass double pull doors on the ground level to the building. The glass is all frosted over because it is five degrees outside. The tile of the flooring inside is yellow from years of not polishing it. The walls are just plain white and the front desk is empty as an abandoned building.

I head towards the stairs. I do not trust the old elevator to get me safely to the fifth floor of this building.

As I exit the stairs and walk through the heavy old door I can see my fathers apartment. The hallway floor is an old green color and the walls are a tan color with chips all through it from people running into it with themselves and items.

As I approach his apartment, I notice his door ajar. It has been broken into. The doorknob is broken. I lightly push open the door. I begin to reach into my crossbody bag for my personal weapon. As I do so, I am shoved down to the ground.

A figure runs past me and down the hall to the staircase. The mystery figure was dressed in all black. Gloves, hoodie, pants, shoes. All of it. All of that is to hide who they truly are or who they are working for.

I do not give chase because I am alone and need to figure out what happened here before I run after a stranger.

I get to my feet. As I hit the light switch on the other side of the doorframe.

I am shocked. I stood there wide-mouthed and bug eyed.

His apartment was trashed. Everything was cut and ripped apart.

The mystery man was not holding anything. So, I am guessing I interrupted them or they could not find what they were looking for.

I walk to the bedroom and see that the twin bed is untouched and so is the wall.

That means his hidden secret spot was untouched and is still safe. I now can start my work to find my father and the criminals that are keeping us apart.

Chapter Two: Hidden Secrets

As I am standing there. I heard someone’s footsteps come in the apartment behind me.

“Hi Detective Blue. Or should I call you Al since we are in private away from everyone’s spying eyes?”

“Aster, you can call me Al or Blue, but never Detective Blue. You know this. Just because we have not seen eye to eye on this matter with your father does not mean that I do not care about you” Said Al.

The next thing to exit Al’s mouth, surprises me. I am never surprised because I also guess it or figure it out.

“Maybe you were right, Aster. Maybe we should be looking into this off the book case your father was working on since someone made such a mess in here.”

“If you are really on my side Al, then we need to get to work. First we need to make more damage in this apartment. We need to create a hole in the wall behind the bed. My father hid the most secret stuff behind walls. Not in the wall safe because those could always get figured out”.

Al looked at me, shockingly.

“Well then Aster. We better get started because that person might come back soon or later with more people”.

As he made that statement. We both turn our heads and face the open door wondering who was in here and how they knew to come here looking for answers to all the questions that we have.

Chapter Three: Lost and Found

Al and I had chinese food delivered to dad’s secret apartment. I ordered two pork egg rolls and lo mein noodles without vegetables. Al ordered shrimp lo mein and two pork egg rolls as well. We got a large amount of sweet and sour sauce.

We ate Chinese food while we were going through the files that my father hid in the wall. We dug them out with a sledgehammer.

The wall plaster is in crumbled pieces all over the bedroom floor and a part of the bed. The bed just got scooted to the other side of the wall of the bedroom apartment.

“Even though this is hard to admit, Al. I am glad you’re here with me to go through these files”.

I am cross legged on the land in the kitchen of the apartment. There is only that one desk chair and Al is sitting in it as he looks through the other half of the hidden files I pulled out of the wall.

“I should have listened to you sooner, Aster. Maybe if I did, then we would have your father back already,” said Al.

“Well, the files are about the Steeles and the Shallots.”

The files include:

  • Shay
  • Rr
  • Flowers
  • Zane
  • Earth
  • Famous

Which are all code names. I am not sure how my father wrote his codes. He would have kept it secret only for his eyes only. Well the names at least. The facts are not codes.

“Aster. Those are the two most powerful families in this town. The two most criminal families this city has seen in a long time.”

“So we cannot just go charging in with S.W.A.T. Magic.”

Our S.W.A.T. The Magic team has all kinds of magical creatures. It has vampires, werewolves, and more.

“No, Aster we cannot. It would make things easier, but they also have magical creatures and their families are magical creatures.”

“Aster. For us to move forward we need The Obscura on our side. We need his blessings to go on official channels to get your father back if one of these families took him.”

“Who is The Obscura?”

“The Obscura is the most powerful wizard in the city. He needs to be on our side or we lose. No matter who you are. The police commissioner always gets his blessing before a S.W.A.T. case is launched into action.”

“Well Al then we have to get his blessings. How do we do that?”

I am frustrated at this point. I slam the file that I am reading about the Elf family, The Steeles.

The file is named “Shay”.

“Aster, we have to call his assistant and make an appointment. The blessing itself is just a spell, but it is the most powerful spell that exists right now in time.”

“So the blessing is a jewel of some sorts.”

“Yes, Aster.”

“That sounds complicated and we do not have time for that if we just go ask these families some questions about my father, ” said Aster.

Al laughs.

Which sounds dry and hollow.

“Aster. We cannot just walk up to these families and ask personal questions. Their protectors will make you disappear forever if you know what I mean.”

“I get it, Al. Who are their protectors?”

“Their protectors are vampires and werewolves mostly. Some magical creatures as well, but both sides have the same type of creatures which is why neither family has not pulled ahead of the other one.”

“Ok. Call the assistant Al. We need to get this process started.”

Al called the assistant and made an appointment in the next hour. The time now was midnight. So this wizard is willing to meet us at one in the morning.

I will be missing out on sleep, but I need answers and my father back so the meeting is a go.

Al and I collect the files and put them in my crossbody bag. Which does not leave my side. Ever.

We leave dad’s apartment. We do not bother to lock or do anything else with it because we do not plan to come back to his secret apartment.

We arrive at the house where we are supposed to meet this all powerful famous wizard.

The house is black with gray shutters on the top and bottom windows of the house. There is a front porch with nothing on it. The front door does not even have a welcome mat.

I look around us and see no one around. There are empty streets and sidewalks around.

We start walking up the steps of the house when the front door opens wide.

“Welcome to The Obscura’s house. My name is Kelly. I am here to guide you to the meeting room.”

“Thank you, Kelly.”

Is all I said to her.

As Al and I walked across the entrance way into the house of the wizard that could end us or help us find my father.
